Babylon Eden Saga Book 2 eBook Matthew C Plourde

It's hard to be overly critical about this book because it is clearly not based off of any religious theory I've encountered before, but it was a good story nevertheless. Personally, I enjoyed the read about as much as I enjoyed the first one. I feel as though it was written much better than the "Divergent type" series and the author uses clear, thoughtful language. I may not agree with much of the religious overtones, but it's a fun story enjoyed I look forward to reading Babylon.

Side note - really give the book a shot. If you enjoy reading just to read (I'd certainly rather read this than John Stuart Mill.. poly sci student problems) you will enjoy this. I hate when people give horrible reviews and the reviews for this book have been rather unkind to its quality. Matthew Plourde definitely spent the time to edit and create a fast-paced story, don't miss out!

Babylon Eden Saga Book 2 eBook Matthew C Plourde Reviews

Matthew Plourde has to be one of the best up and coming writers I've read in quite a while. I never got around to writing a review of Eden, so I will combine my comments on both Eden and Babylon here. The story line of the series is truly refreshing in the sense that it does not follow any sort of formula like many modern day authors. The protagonist and other characters are well developed and realistic. The plot is enticing and structured in a way that engages the reader on multiple levels.

I have read quite a few books in this genre (post apacolyptic fiction) and both Eden and Babylon are unique in the fact that the author skillfully combines theology and science fiction in a story that people can actually relate to. Too often we see novels that tell of the end of the world as we know it by imparting to the reader endless details of death and destruction, blood and gore, usually as some sort of quasi-prophetic warning of things to come. This isn't that story. The books by no means avoid violence and destruction, but they don't beat you over the head with it, the violent and gory scenes compliment the interaction between characters and emphasize the situations in a way that is tasteful yet entertaining; this is a difficult thing for writers to do. This can also be said of the religious aspects of the novels. Indeed there are religious undertones in this series, but they are by no means self righteous or overbearing. Theology seems to play a role in the story instead of being the point of it. While I'm on the topic of religion, I should compliment the author on his knowledge of scripture, in a many cases I have read stories in this genre wherein authors pontificate on topics of which they posess limited knowledge. Thanks for doing the research!

Without divulging details of the plot, I can say that the main and supporting characters, as well as the antagonists are interesting in and of themselves. From a science fiction standpoint this story has it all Angels, Demons, Crazed Mobs, Lawyers who aren't what they seem at first glance... Eden and Babylon are a refreshing change from your everyday science fiction/post apacolyptic quick read/brain candy novel. I was skeptical when I first saw Eden in my list of reccomendations on . I'm glad I took a chance on Mr. Plourde. He is a fantastic writer of the type I honor the most. He writes because he loves it. Not that all writers don't love their work, but after reading enough James Patteson and Tess Gerritson, one gets the sense that some of them think of it as a job. Matthew Plourde has a day job it seems, and unlike many writers, he took the time and put in the effort to tell a story that people will truly enjoy. Way to go! I eagerly anticipate the next installment in the series.
enjoyed the series very much. do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do ok
I loved the 1st book in the series sooo much that I was a bit apprehensive about where the story would progress from there, since Koneh was such a huge reason for that. However, I can very happily say that Matthew Plourde has delivered another amazing chapter in the Eden saga & I I dont know how I'm going to survive the wait till Brasilia becomes available. The separation between Koneh & Alexandra is killing me! And I'm truly hoping that they will find a way to be together again after everything that they've both already sacrificed.
Once again the storyline kept me completely absorbed until the last page & left me wanting more. I find myself really caring about what happens to Alexandra, Erzulie & Koneh, because the author really does an amazing job of making you feel as though you're experiencing every emotion right along w/ them. So in that way it also makes it nearly impossible to not become heavily invested in what happens to each them. I also found the editing to be top notch again w/ only 2-3 grammatical errors that I came across.
So thank you Mr. Plourde!!! I rarely find myself this caught up in a story & I can't wait to find out what happens next.
I fell in love with Eden. I promised I would pace myself when it came to Babylon, because I wanted to kick myself for reading Eden so quickly..but I failed. Now I impatiently wait for Brasilia. Matthew C. Plourde is making it very difficult for me to accept reality after reading his books. Now stop reading the reviews and go download them already! ~D
I found this series really enjoyable, and quite different from what I was expecting. There were a lot of twists and turns that caught me unprepared, and it just didnt have that happy ever after feel about it. I like his books
This was exciting from beginning to end. Loved every chapter and all the twists. Bravo. Look forward to next book.
I dislike a required amount of words for a review, nor am I particularly descriptive when giving a synopsis of a book. I just wanted the author and potential readers to know I loved this book. It is post apocalyptic/sci fi, those who are worried about any religious connotations, don't worry, it is not a Christian book. It does make the reader think. I read both books in a weekend. I miss Lex already and hope the 3rd book is released soon. Thank you )
