When I got to the end of this book I went straight back to the beginning and started again. There's so much wisdom here. As promised, the exercises are easy to learn and you can integrate them into your life in about ten to fifteen minutes a day. You wouldn't think that would be enough to make any difference, but speaking as someone that was totally crippled by my fear of recurrence I can promise you, this stuff really works! The advice on living a fulfilling life was particularly important to me and so was all of the information about sorting out my values and what really matters to me.

I've been through all kinds of therapy and workshops trying to get my life back after cancer. I wish I'd started with this book! I could have saved myself a lot of time, money and worry. I feel like the sun has come up and my life is my own again. Best of all, my family are noticing what a difference it has made. My husband is half way through it. Even though he's never had cancer he's finding the activities are really helping him to deal with all of his anxiety about my illness and his future. I don't think you need to have had cancer to find this book useful. I hope she writes a followup book for anyone dealing with trauma or anxiety. Brilliant. Highly recommended.

I Read in one sitting. I couldnt put it down. Meg has bought a deep level of love, humour and so much respect to a subject some will not touch. I applaud your bravery, your articulate use of language and your sense of humour, conveyed powerfully throughout the book.
A very valuable resource for everyone, not only those that have had cancer. There is so much knowledge and information within this book for tools with working through freeing yourself from fear. I believe sometimes when we get caught in fear, there is fog, we don’t seem to acknowledge our own values and get lost in the mist. There is so much within this book that draws on many techniques for working through this and with a lovely sense of humour, it shows Meg McGowan has had the life experience to walk the talk. Thank you Meg McGowan.
If a cancer diagnosis feels like too much to bear, you'll find solid comfort here. The exercises are quick and easy to perform. Yet they are profound and will produce lasting results. McGowan's book is filled with wisdom that can only have come from one intimately familiar with the traumatizing effects of cancer diagnosis and treatment. I strongly urge you to buy this book. You'll be glad you did and will, like me, refer to it for years to come. This book is a rare find, and the author deserves praise.

I have been suffering with anxiety for the past year and most things I do I do by forcing myself. I want to relax and find a way to heal my mind. I think the anxiety I have from the antiestrogen med I must take for 5 years I hope some of these suggestions help so I can get off the meds. Nice book, 8 need to reread it and practice it.
